Yesterday, hard rain.
Now in strong wind, bright sunshine,
Not even puddles.
Patrolling back yard
Tree to shed to shrub to fence
Catbird makes his rounds.
Insistent in pine
Telling the whole world it’s his
Bright red cardinal.
