Went out a second time about an hour ago. Snow’s blowing harder. Walked — okay, trudged — in the other direction, not toward the river but into the neighborhood streets. Went maybe ten blocks away. Out and back took an hour. Here are the afternoon’s photos. Now I’m done, settled in, about to go back to the book I’m working on and then watch the Knicks, who apparently made it to Charlotte last night although the airports were closed by the time they were finished losing to the Clippers.
Door as I was leaving the building
Green means go but so what, really?
I think we’ll come back tomorrow for the bike
We NYers will take our icicles where we can get them
Hope the 6th Precinct doesn’t need that car
Or that one (the 24-hour pharmacy, by the way, is closed)
This is a traffic-ticket vehicle, so you KNOW they don’t need this one
Looks like Christmas in the traffic light photo. Nice shots.
Was it at a good pace? But my real question is:how did it compare with the sand dunes?
Sharon — Thanks!
Henry — Could hardly call it a pace at all. Thunk thunk thunk. But still the sand dune was much harder.
Glad to know somebody besides me actually likes “inclement” weather, which forecasters usually characterize as “gloomy” – why? it’s just wet! They need to up their dosage of prozac, I think. Of course, I do feel for homeless people & feral cats who have inadequate shelter, and with people whose homes & communities are damaged by severe weather, but thankfully extreme events are rare – although who knows how much more common they may become in the future!
Particularly like “Green means go…” (and it does look like Christmas), “Snowplow oops”, “Wall”!
(The addition questions to prove I’m not a robot make me fear I shall fail!)
I loved your outing and the things you saw along the way.
Keith
Green means go and the snowplow oops images somehow suddenly make NYC look like a small town; quite beautiful.
Thank you.
