Thirteenth Saturday, from Somerville, MA, two days late

Sharp black roof shadow

Thrown by early morning sun

Onto blank white wall.

Mug on concrete step.

Steam rises through chilly air.

Dog barks on next block.

Privet and sedum,

Forsythia and myrtle —

Any minute now.

And in case you want more, here’s my 211 HAIKU book for you.
