Fifty-first Saturday

Ship chugs upriver

Against sharp-shadowed towers,

Glowing in sunlight.

At piling field’s end

Seagull floats on still water,

Cormorant dries wings.

Familiar yapping:

Four dachshunds on morning walk.

Three silent, one loud.
