Ninth Saturday

Crumpled white ice floes

To end of pilings. Beyond,

Glass-smooth clear water.

Low-flying geese soar,

Look for landing, see their spot,

Settle on snow bank.

Single tug glides past,

Curves to ferry terminal,

Leaves river empty.
