Purple-hulled tugboat —
White wheelhouse, white frothy wake —
Rides on pale river.

Bagpipes, drums on pier,
Robins, chickadees, in trees,
Drowning out traffic.

Sailboats inching north.
Hard-nosed ferry plowing south.
Cormorant fishing.
