Happy New Year! Photo is how I imagine Nebraska – always wanted to go there to see all that open space on both sides of the road. Interesting how my DNA instantly responds to a city environment – the closeness of the buildings, the people…And yet a wide open empty space is equally as instantly appealing.
That photo, my friend, is the dunes at Jones Beach. And I have your same reaction to open space — one of the reasons I love Mongolia. Either you feel it or you don’t.
Wow, Jones Beach? It’s a beautiful capturing – The sky looks brush-stroked and the dunes desert-like. Some of my favorite moments have been walking alone through such an environment.

Happy New Year! I get a sense of possibility from that photo, which is a propos for the start of a new year.
